Troubleshoot Registration Issues in Workday
When registering for an academic period a student is unable to register for a course section, they should check the following:
• Holds on their account
• Active Registration Appointment
• Required Pre-requisites have been satisfied
If after checking the above a student is still unable to register, students can run the Troubleshoot Registration tasks.
Troubleshoot Registration Report
Step 1: Search Troubleshoot Registration – Select Troubleshoot Registration
Step 2: Select Academic Period – Select Course
Step 3: Select OK
Step 4: Review the Course table for registration troubleshooting and restrictions.
Note: In this example, the student cannot register because the student is already registered for the course/took the course. This course does not allow for duplicate registrations or students to repeat the course.
Step 5: Select Relaunch to start a new troubleshoot registration search
Troubleshoot Registration on a Course Section
Step 1: From your Workday homepage, select Menu on the top left corner and choose the Academics worklet in Apps tab
Step 2: Select Find Course Sections in the Planning & Registration section
Step 3: Select Start Date within – Select Academic Level
Step 4: Select OK
Step 5: Enter a course or course section name in the search bar
Step 6: Select a course section name from the search results
Step 7: Select Troubleshoot
Step 8: Review the Course table for registration troubleshooting and restrictions.
Note: In this example, the student cannot register because the student is already registered for the course/took the course. This course does not allow for duplicate registrations or students to repeat the course.
Understanding Registration Troubleshooting and Restriction Fields
Review the Course table for registration troubleshooting and restrictions definitions.
• Enrollment Window – Registration date window should be open; No means registration date window is closed
• Maximum Units – Maximum Units student is allowed to enroll
• Enrolled Units – Active units student is enrolled
• Holds – Should be 0 in order to register, if you have a hold select the number link to view Holds
• No Duplicate Registrations – No, means you have taken the course before or are already for the course in a different course section.
• Can Repeat – No, means you can only receive credit for taking this course once
• Has Published, Visible Sections – Yes, means course has been published and visible to students
• Can Register for Co-Requisites – Yes, means student can enroll in co-requisite courses, if applicable.
