What is Pharos MobilePrint?
Pharos MobilePrint enables you to print documents, email messages, and images from an email or a web-enabled device using smartphones and tablets as well as laptops and PCs, regardless of the operating system they are running. You can then release the jobs at any of the Uniprint release stations located at Samuel C. Williams Library.
What email clients are supported?
MobilePrint has been tested on the following email clients:
- Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, and 2016
- Google Gmail
- Microsoft Hotmail
- Yahoo! Mail
- Apple Mail (for iPhone and iPad). iOS 9.0 and higher are fully supported.
- Android versions 4.4 and above.
What file formats are supported?
MobilePrint supports the following document types, which are supported via Email Print or Web Print.

.odt, .ods, .ott, .odp, .odg, .odf, .odp
MobilePrint 2.4.3 supports Open Office 4.0 or greater.
Note: Open Office is used as the document renderer if Open Office document is detected and the MobilePrint server has Open Office installed.
Comma Separated Values
.csv
Adobe Portable Document
.pdf
Rich Text Format
.rtf
Text File
.txt
Limited HTML support
HTML as part of the email body itself.
Note: HTML links or attachments are not supported for security reasons.
Image formats
.jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .bmp, .tif, .tiff
Other formats
.cfg, .ini
Note: To print a supported document type using a website link, you can simply email the web link. The hyperlink should be the first line of the email message and only one hyperlink is allowed per email message.
For example, sending the following link to print a pdf file will succeed:
http://www.sample-address.com/files/myDocument.pdf
However, sending the following link will not be processed because MobilePrint does not support printing HTM/HTML files for security reasons:
http://www.sample-address.com/files/Sample-page.html
If you submit an unsupported format (e.g. XPS) for printing, you will receive a reply email showing that the document(s) failed to process because the format is not supported. No link will be shown. Email attachments starting with ATT, followed by any digits between 0-9, and ending with the extension .htm, .html, or .txt will not be processed:
- ATT0001.htm
- ATT1.html
- ATT.txt
If the attachment comes with an email message, the email message will be available to print provided it meets the minimum 200 characters. By default, email messages shorter than the minimum characters will not be processed and will be discarded.
