Submit a Sunset Course Proposal in Coursedog

This guide will show how to create and submit a Sunset a Course(s) proposal in Coursedog.

Logging into Coursedog

Select the Coursedog icon on the myStevens landing page.

On the following page, select the Click to Sign In button to access Coursedog.

For users with access to multiple Coursedog modules, please check that you are working in the desired module. If you need to switch modules, select the A blue squares on a white backgroundDescription automatically generated icon in the upper right corner of the landing page, then select the correct module.

Submit a Sunset Course Proposal

Step 1: On the Coursedog Curriculum landing page, select the + New Proposal option on the right side of the screen.

Step 2: Select Course Proposal in the What would you like to do today? dropdown menu, then select Sunset a Course(s) from the What type of proposal would you like to request? dropdown menu.

Step 3: Select Go to Form.

The New Proposal window shows the "What would you like to do today?" menu with Course Proposal selected and the "What type of proposal would you like to request?" menu with Sunset a Course(s) selected. The bottom of the screen shows the "Go to Form" option highlighted for the user and a gray Cancel option in the bottom right of the screen.

Step 4: In the Executive Summary section, select the Academic Level (Career) from the dropdown menu, then provide information in the Please provide a narrative overview of the changes you are proposing and the rational for said changes text box.

Step 5: Fill in all required information plus any additional information as necessary in the General section. All required information fields are marked as such.

Any required field is marked with a red required text next to the title.

Please note that multiple courses can be added to a single Sunset Course proposal.

Step 6: Describe the rationale for proposing to sunset the courses and list any programs that might be impacted by sunsetting the suggested courses.

The "Rationale: Why are you proposing to sunset the course(s)?" and "What program(s) will be impacted by the sunsetting of the course(s)? Is this course being removed or replaced in any program requirements or electives?" text boxes have toolbars at the top of the text box and red required text next to the questions.

Step 7: When all information has been entered, select Submit Proposal on the right side of the screen under Actions.

The Actions section of the Sunset a Course(s) proposal page shows a highlighted blue Submit Proposal and a red Delete Proposal button. Below the buttons is a Contents title with the two main sections of the proposal listed: Executive Summary and General.
